![]() Zachary H. DavisCecil County Board of Education Student MemberDistrict: Countywide BiographyZachary H. Davis is a lifelong resident of Elkton. He attended Cecil Manor Elementary and Cherry Hill Middle Schools, and is currently a senior at Elkton High School. Zach is an A student with a GPA over 4.0. He received top scores on the three AP Exams he took during his junior year, and earned a score of 2280 on his first SAT. A three-time Student of the Year at EHS, Zach is currently a semi-finalist for the National Merit Scholarship, an Honorable Mention for the Maryland Distinguished Scholar Talent-in-the-Arts Award, and a finalist for the Maryland Distinguished Scholar Award. He plays singles for the EHS tennis team and participates in the school play each year. He feels privileged to return for a second year as the Drum Major of the EHS Marching Band, and has performed with the EHS concert and jazz bands, as well as Rising Sun High School’s Pit Band and the Upper Chesapeake Community Band. Zach is an artist and aspires to perform for a living. His passion is the saxophone, which he plays in regional university honors bands in addition to the aforementioned bands. He has earned a position in the All County Band each year and is aiming for All State this year. His solos have consistently received the highest possible rating at county and state levels. Zach also enjoys acting, and has performed in EHS plays as well as with the Wilmington Drama League. Every summer he looks forward to attending the Upper Chesapeake Summer Center for the Arts and hopes he can soon return as a counselor. Recently, he has turned his creative interests to photography. Zach has proven himself a leader who is proud to serve as Cecil County’s Student Member of the Board. A graduate of the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Seminar and the Maryland Leadership Workshop Camp, he is excited to represent the interests of Cecil County Public Schools students on the Board of Education. Named one of the ten outstanding leaders in the state of Maryland, he brings to the Board passion, dedication, intelligence, and openness to people and ideas.
