Elkton BiographyEarl Piner, Sr. is a Cecil County native, raised in Elkton, Maryland. A 1975 Elkton High School graduate and former 1st Team All-County basketball player, he continued his studies at Wilmington College. He later played semi-pro basketball in Philadelphia. Earl worked for A.I. Dupont for over 20 years and is currently employed with W.L. Gore & Associates. He coaches men’s basketball at Cecil Community College. He is also a sales representative for a financial services company. In September 2000, Earl was selected as Cecil County’s Most Beautiful Person for his contributions to the community. His community involvement includes: being a member of a gospel group; performing as a solo singer for various functions; being a member of the Cecil County Board of Education; serving on the Elkton Zoning Board, the Cecil Federal Bank Advisory Board, and the Minority Student Advisory Board at Cecil Community College. Presently, he holds the office of Elkton Town Commissioner. In addition, Earl has organized and coached in many of the YMCA, Parks and Recreation, and community basketball programs. Earl resides in Elkton with his wife Debbie and daughters Jahnee and Lahnee. His son, Earl, Jr., is a graduate of Washington College and currently resides in Sterling, Virginia. Earl is the proud grandfather of Dah’mear, Monique, and Malise. Earl states “I am grateful to be able to serve a town such as Elkton. To be able to continue the effort in supporting the people, especially the youth, with programs in which this town so desperately needs. I plan to work hard for the people in the Town of Elkton, to ensure them of their safety and rights by working with the supporting team of administrators of this town. My goal is to help with projects that have already begun and make sure that no project is left unfinished.” Committe Assignments
