Cecil County Board of Education Student Member
Ihunanya Nwoji is an Elkton High School senior. She is a well-rounded student involved in the National Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, Student Council, and is the secretary of Key Club. Ihunanya has a weighted GPA of 4.19 and has won various awards such as the Student of the Month Award, Mathematics Award, Science Award, Foreign Language Award, Technology Education Award, and Social Studies Award.
Ihunanya is known by the principal, teachers, and staff of Elkton High for her strong work ethic, kindness, and determination. She has been able to balance rigorous coursework and extracurricular activities. She enjoys serving her community by volunteering at homeless shelters, the EHS Library, and going on missions in the U.S. and Africa. Ihunanya has traveled to Europe, Canada, Africa, and around the U.S. In her free time, she can be found reading, cooking, and traveling to new places. Ihunanya continually strives toward her goal of becoming a chemical engineer.
Ihunanya is honored to be a part of the Board of Education. As the student member, identifying and communicating the concerns of students to the Board is her priority.
