Biography

Ms. Kirsten A. Gerhart was raised in Cecil County, graduating from North East High School in 1984. After high school Kirsten attended Cecil Community College and the University of Delaware while working full time.  A few years later she moved to Delaware pursing a career in customer service with a leading financial institution.

After an illness in the family, Kirsten returned to North East to assist with the family business. Shortly after returning, she expanded the family’s interests by beginning About Town Limousine Service, Inc. She continued to build the business into the thriving transportation company it is today.

Kirsten is the proud mother of three children, Darien, Brielle, and Wyatt, all of whom are enrolled in Cecil County Public Schools. In 2004 she graduated from the Parent Leadership Institute, which promotes parental involvement in education. Kirsten is actively involved in the community. She has served as the Yearbook Advisor at North East Elementary School, PTSO Co-President at North East Middle School, PTA Newsletter Editor for Elk Neck Elementary, and is always a ready volunteer.

Ms. Gerhart was elected to the Board of Education in 2006, in Cecil County’s first school board election. She is glad to be part of the continuous improvement Cecil County Public Schools strives to achieve.
