Elkton BiographyMrs. Lauren Camphausen has been a resident of Cecil County for most of her life. She attended Cecil County Public Schools from kindergarten through her graduation from North East High School in 1993. In 1997, Lauren obtained a B.A. in Sociology, with a concentration in Education, from the University of Maryland. Her professional career has been focused on program development and evaluation, strategic planning, and public policy related to youth substance abuse prevention, child abuse and neglect prevention, and parent support and education. She's worked as a research assistant with a social science research organization in Washington, D.C., as a contract manager and grant manager with the state of Delaware's Office of Prevention and Early intervention, and was also involved in budget development and management with the state of Delaware's Division of Family Services. Lauren has been working as a private consultant since 2005. She provides consultation services to various non-profit and state agencies in the development, implementation, and evaluation of school and community-based programs. Lauren and her husband Brian have three wonderful children, Molly, Sophie, and Kyle. Molly is currently a student at Kenmore Elementary. As a school board member, Lauren envisions a responsive and effective school system that promotes success in every student. She believes that a quality education is one of the most fundamental opportunities we can provide children. Lauren is honored to participate in the transformation of the county's school board to a fully-elected body and hopes to bring her professional expertise and personal talents to serving Cecil County's students.
